August Corps is a collaborative ensemble committed to the continued, rigorous training of the actor and creation of new theatre. Led by curiosity, our work seeks to rebirth the ancient and uplift the untold.
With artistic homes in both New York City and northern Alabama, the Corps aims to nurture a rural-urban connection for artists and communities alike, and contribute to a decentralized, equitable, holistic view and practice of American theatre.
Theatre as sacred space.
Performance as offering.
Excellence in training
Inclusivity in practice
Longevity and sustainability
The August Corps ensemble’s training is rooted in the practice of Suzuki, Viewpoints, and archetype exploration. Drawing from the strengths and backgrounds of our company members, we continue to share tools and develop common artistic vocabulary as we devise new works from the ground up.
If you are interested in training with us, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for details about our next open session.
